When I was a young child, my Dad would often draw pictures of farm animals for me. I never saw him do a finished drawing but I know that this was the beginning of my artistic journey.
The inspiration for my paintings, comes from the things that I see around me. A rusty old bucket holds the same fascination for me as a beautiful Northern landscape. I am drawn to rich colours and the play of light and shadow.
My first and most influential mentor was my Dad's sister, Harriet Olafson. We painted together at her ranch and she gave me encouragement to continue with my art.
For the past fifteen years, my biggest support has comes from the ladies at the Northern Palette Art Club. I have learned so much from them.
