Online Exhibition: Dan Dillon Covid-19 Artists

2/15/2021

We are thrilled to host this online exhibition from local photographer, teacher and explorer Dan Dillon.  Below are his artist statement and link to his show documenting artists exploring their craft during these unprecedented times.

As our community in northern Manitoba/northern Saskatchewan experienced its first COVID-19 lock down at the end of March 2020, I wondered how the experience was affecting local artists and their creative processes. Over the course of April, May and June 2020, I met with individual artists and photographed them at work. All photo shoots were physically distanced for safety. I met with ten local artists to capture images of their projects and artistic processes. The artists included a potter, painter, quilter, wood turner, luthier (fiddle maker), illustrator, bead worker, metal worker, and two photographers. This body of work is a collection of process images. Thank you to all of the artists who participated in this collaborative process.
Photos were captured with a Canon 7D and Canon 1D Mark III and Canon 100-400 mm, 50 mm and 10-22 mm lenses.
All photos are property of the artist, Daniel Dillon and may not be reprinted or republished without the express permission of the artist.
